We believe the day will go extremely quickly and we would like to be able to look back on our day to remember it properly. There will be things throughout our day that we don't notice or might miss so we'd love to be able to look back and pick up things we didn't get to see at the time. We'd just like to have the memories that we can treasure forever, show our children one day etc.
You guys? ...What do you do?..How do you spend your days?..What's important in life?
We live in Dubai. Lloyd works in a Recruitment company and Sasha works in a Dental practice. We're into our fitness, we like the gym! We tend to spend our weekends relaxing in the sunshine and eating out at nice restaurants. Lloyd is addicted to football and formula 1, Sasha is addicted to shopping and reality TV :)
What's important to us in life... family & friends are number 1. Having fun and and taking ourselves too seriously, enjoying the nicer things in life such as fine dining, beach resorts and fancy hotels!
The proposal? ...Tell us everything!
We went to a 5* Desert Resort in Dubai called Bab Al Shams. There is a bar there called the Sunset Bar, with a beautiful view of the sun setting behind the sand dunes in the distance. We sat together for a drink, Lloyd suggested having a photo with the view, and as we posed together for the photo Lloyd got down on one knee. Initially, Sasha's response was ' Thanks ' ! But thankfully she did say yes afterwards ;) We then sat together, admired her ring, called our family to tell them the news and then went for a romantic Arabic meal!
The Venue/s? ... Why this place above anywhere else? Because it is on the land owned by Sashas family!
The wedding barn where the reception is being held is situated right on the land that Sasha's grandfather owns and lives on, he is a farmer and it is around 400 acres. Sasha has lived there herself for much of her life, and we lived in an apartment on the land for around 3 years before relocating to Dubai.
The Barn has actually just been rebuilt from scratch, and we are the first people to get married there. After our wedding, it will be an events barn available to others for hire.
The Church, which is literally across the road from the farm property, is sentimental because it is where Sasha's Mum, Auntie and Grandmother were all married.
What experience do you want to give to your guests? We don't want our guests feeling like they're being filmed for a movie and so can't be themselves!
The most important thing to us is that our guests have a fantastic time, get drunk and enjoy themselves. We want the to dance, laugh and generally have the time of their lives, without worrying about being snapped, papped and video'd the whole time :)
We also want to try our best to make sure we at least get some time with everybody at the wedding, so we too don't want to have too much of our time taken up posing for photos and videos.
